The short version
The JSON you paste, type, open or load into getjsonviewer.com is processed only in your browser. It is never uploaded to us, and we have no database to store it in.
What stays on your device
- Your draft. To save your work between visits, the current editor content (up to about 2 MB) is kept in your browser’s local storage. Press Clear to remove it, or clear your site data.
- Your preferences: theme, indentation and key sorting, also kept in local storage.
Local storage is not a cookie and is never sent to our servers.
Share links
When you press Share, your JSON is compressed into the part of the link after the #. Browsers do not send this part to servers, so we never receive it. Anyone you give the link to can read the JSON, so only share links with people you trust.
Load from URL
“Load from URL” makes your browser request that address directly. The request goes from your browser to that server, not through us.
Hosting logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic request data such as IP address, user agent and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This never includes your JSON. SeeCloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising, tracking cookies or third-party analytics scripts.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
